Voice
Amy's vocal teaching focuses on discovering and developing your natural voice -- working in whatever style interests you -- with technique grounded in the classical tradition. Exercises concentrate on developing a fluid connection over the many parts of the vocal range, and Amy will work with you on language and diction, effective delivery and musicality, ear training, and (if you like) improvisation, experimentation and microphone technique, as well as coaching for specific performances.

Electronic music performance and composition
Amy specializes in using interactive technology expressively in composition and live performance. She can help you get the most out of the tools you are working with, help you find ways to experiment and create, and advise you in developing songs and compositions. Product expertise includes percussion controllers and live looping hardware, Logic, Peak and other home studio software, and analog synthesis.

Examples of past teaching experience include teaching assistantships in vintage analog synthesis and multi-track recording, private tutoring in Drumkat and hardware synth programming, university master classes in electronic music composition, and a community college course in MIDI Fundamentals.

Guest instructor in Creative Vocalization as part of Danspace's Tween/Teen Summer Dance Workshop, Oakland, California. Amy's weekly sessions focus on vocal projection and experimentation, text, and rhythm. Workshop runs June 15 to July 10, 2009. Details at the Danspace link above.
